A scented candle of coconut soy wax with a wooden wick, in a lidded fine porcelain jar finished with gold detailing.
The gift that needs no occasion.
The story
Evening after the afternoon rain, the windows thrown open and the scent of the garden drifting through the house. Some memories arrive through scent before anything else.
Our Porcelain Candle brings that feeling home. Its lidded fine porcelain jar carries songket motifs and the bunga raya, finished with gold detailing, and holds a candle in one of two scents: Seri Bunga Raya or Morning Bamboo.
When the candle has burned down, we refill the jar, so the porcelain stays in your home for years and the light returns again and again. It is the gift that needs no occasion, because every evening at home is worth marking.
The piece
- A scented candle in a lidded fine porcelain jar, 10 cm wide and 10 cm high
- Coconut soy wax with a wooden wick, hand-poured in small batches
- Wax weight 160 g, approx. 30 to 40 hours of burn time
- Scents: Seri Bunga Raya or Morning Bamboo
- Refillable: send us the empty jar and we refill it in either scent, RM60 (Malaysia only; see the Porcelain Candle Refill)
- Fine porcelain with gold detailing
- Arrives in a Casa Aseana gift box with a bamboo handle, ready to give.
Living with it
Light it when the table is set, in a quiet guest room, or at a desk by the window. Once the candle has burned down, send the empty jar back to us and we will pour a fresh candle into it, in either scent, for RM60. Or let the jar keep its place on a dressing table or shelf.
Every piece is packed and padded securely in its own fitted place inside the gift box, so it arrives just as it left us. Each box also holds a small sachet of silica gel. It absorbs moisture inside the closed box, keeping the porcelain, the gold detailing and the box itself dry and fresh while it travels and while it is stored, which matters in our humid climate. The sachet is not edible: once the gift is unpacked, please remove it and throw it away, out of reach of children and pets.
For the first light, let the wax melt right to the edge, usually 2 to 3 hours, then burn for no more than 4 hours at a time. Trim the wooden wick to about 3 mm before lighting, keep the candle away from draughts, children and pets, and never leave it unattended. Stop when about 1 cm of wax remains. The porcelain warms as it burns, so let it cool before moving it. Wash the jar by hand only: the gold detailing is fired onto the finished glaze, so keep it out of the dishwasher, microwave and oven.
